Thursday Things #4

Hello!

I hope September is treating you well so far. How in the world are we halfway through this month already? It’s mind boggling.

I planned to share this post earlier, but I decided that it was time to up my game and improve these cover images. I’m late to the party with removing the background from photos, but I’m glad to have finally learned!

Stephen was patient enough to teach me how to remove image backgrounds using GIMP. He was more careful and precise when it came to zooming in and erasing the teeniest parts of the remaining background. Thank you, Steeeephen!

In this Thursday Things post I’ll share Outus bookmarks, The Mint Julep’s Feeling Fine Olive Green Lace Top & Shorts, and Bare Coconut Chips.

96 Arrow-Shaped Magnetic Bookmarks — Outus

I finally got a library card last Saturday, so now I can frequently use these lovely bookmarks to keep track of quotes for book reviews! I absolutely love the colors, and there are so many to choose from! I really love the light, pastel colors.

I’m super excited to hop back into reading. The only problem is, once I start a book I have to finish as quickly as possible. I read the two books that I checked out in just three days. They were really good books. I read The Lost for Words Bookshop by Stephanie Butland first, then I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella. I can’t wait to share the reviews!

Side note: Have you read either of these books?

Staying up until the wee hours of the morning to get through a book reminded me of my high school times because I’d sacrifice sleep for reading.

I ordered these bookmarks from Amazon. You get 96 of them, so the price of $13.59 is reasonable. It sounds pricey, but I feel like this is a one-time purchase since there are so many of them. I don’t foresee me needing to buy more unless they’re damaged.

I scrolled through the reviews and there were mixed opinions for these. A lot of people complained that the magnets for these bookmarks are weak.

I only clip the bookmark to a single page and it holds well. Others have mentioned how the bookmarks wouldn’t stay on one page for them. Make sure to read the reviews on this item if you’re interested, but I’m super satisfied with these bookmarks!

Maybe some people received bookmarks with weak magnets, who knows, but mine snap immediately and clamp firmly on to the page. They won’t budge whenever I try to move them either, so I’m glad I got a good pack.

The side that is supposed to be the “top” of the bookmark is smoother and curves downward, while the “bottom” is flatter. I didn’t really notice this when I first used them, but I noticed after looking at them more closely.

Feeling Fine Olive Green Lace Crop Top & Shorts — The Mint Julep

Forgive me for my laziness, but I’m sharing the Mint Julep’s photo for this set. I never took a photo in this outfit, but whenever I’m wearing it out again I’ll have Stephen snap a photo of me so I can upload it here.

I’m so happy to have snagged this set whenever it was on sale, and whenever my size was in stock! I wouldn’t have paid full price for this set, so lucky me. The top is normally $36 and the shorts are $38. I bought them for a total of $26! The sales price for the top and shorts are $13 each right now. There are only mediums and larges left. If these are your sizes and you like this set, now is your chance!

The skirt has shorts material underneath, which is nice because I don’t have to wear spandex. As for the top, it’s slightly big for me. I’m not busty enough to round it out, but it’s a super cute set! I wish there was an x-small size for the top, but I’m satisfied with it overall. The lace is a super cute detail and I can’t wait to wear it out again.

Coconut Chips — Bare

These were the chips that I referred to whenever I mentioned the apple chips a couple of posts ago for the 2 for $7 deal. I haven’t been eating these much because they’re more sweet than I’d like them to be. The chips would be perfect for yogurt, so I’ll sprinkle some on top whenever I make myself a fruit and yogurt bowl.

Overall, I think they’re too sweet to eat them by themselves as a snack. These have now ignited my search for coconut chunks. I tried some years ago whenever I was on vacation and I thought they were the best things at the time, so I must find them.

They’re not bad, but I don’t think I’d buy them again, just because it’s not something I would eat often. I still have like 90% of the bag left to finish and I bought these over a month ago.
