Hi, everyone!
I hope you’re having a fabulous week so far. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it’s November! On the 17th, it’ll mark our first wedding anniversary. Also, I’m excited about blog post series that I’m working on, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
I suppose I’ll try to pick up from two weeks ago until now since I didn’t make a post last week. I’m not very exciting during the week, haha, so there’s nothing much to share on weekdays. So, I’m currently living life on the weekends for the time being until I get some things situated.
So, enjoy another post about lots of food!
Revisiting A Couple Weeks Ago
Weekend of October 25th: So, I ended up bugging Stephen enough to where we went to eat at Inchin’s again, [yay!] It rained all weekend, so we were pretty lazy that Friday and Saturday. I think I had a blog assignment for a client that was due on Tuesday. I didn’t want to wait until Monday to start it since I’m the type of person that just has to have it done as soon as I know about it. I was never a procrastinator in school; that gives me anxiety just thinking about being one!
I thought this was a funny seasonal item. I don’t like pumpkin spice anything, but I’m curious to know how this meal tastes. Now, the poison apple drink would probably be good, but I stuck to water.
Anyways, I did try the Indian food this time. I got the veggie Biriyani, and I was not disappointed!
Sorry to my vegan and vegetarian friends, Stephen ordered the 5 spice lamb, and that was a winner as well. He’s never had lamb before, so he wanted to give it a try. The meat was so lean and flavorful!
There is a vegan restaurant in Nashville that I wanna try at some point. A friend of mine has went a few times and the food looks so good!
He just dumped the rice so that he could pile the meat on it. I snagged a few bites of it before he devoured it.
We didn’t notice until the end that there were two candles lit underneath the bottom. What a cute little presentation!
Once again, they brought out strawberry ice cream to end the meal. I think I did notice they gave one other table the ice cream as well, but I can’t be 100%. That’s a pretty neat thing that they do that for their customers, so no complaints here.
Stephen says that that’s the perfect amount of ice cream — well, he’s wrong because I need much, much more! Haha.
I didn’t want to go straight back to the apartment, so I wanted to go to Michael’s just for the heck of it to look around, possibly buy some Christmas gifts so the expenses aren’t piled up all at once on us. I bought two gifts that night, not at Michael’s, but I did order an item that was cheaper on Amazon than in the store, so mission accomplished for that week!
We ended up buying silly putty for fun. Stephen wanted to buy one of those poorly made craft kits, like the one with gems and whatnot, but I wasn’t that willing to spend money on it if it was pretty terrible. The putty was like $3 and something with a coupon, and he had patience to make one.
That was actually the second attempt because the first one had too much water. So, he just used up the rest of the mix to make this huge lump. I threw it away today since he left it in a plastic cup and it was rock solid.
I did start and finish season 8 of American Horror Story, and I loved how crazy it was, and that it went full circle! I need to rewatch the past season again, but I keep putting it off. I vaguely remembered the characters from previous seasons that crossed over in season 8, so I’ll have to be sure to do so. I know that I wasn’t a fan of the hotel season, but I’ll try to watch them all the way through again.
Halloween Week
As for the rest of the week, I mostly worked and did the usual house chores. On Wednesday, Stephen and I went to Best Buy to buy some things his boss needed for Thursday. We also decided to treat ourselves some Buffalo Wild Wings; we haven’t been here in months, and I’ve had such a craving for wings!
Unfortunately, I was so excited that I only took a picture of the appetizer, which I think they were called Dirty Tots. These were so, so good.
They had brisket, jalapeños, onions, and cheese on them. I devoured about half of them on my own, then took the rest of them to eat the next day.
As for Halloween stuff, I wasn’t sure whether or not kids trick or treated here in our apartment complex, but I bought a bunch of candy just in case. I didn’t capture my poor attempt to decorate our door to signal that we had candy. Literally, the only thing I did was tape three strips of Halloween ribbon on the door! Saving them for next year because I know my efforts probably won’t be too much either.
Instead, Stephen hasn’t ever been to a hockey game before, and there were nosebleed tickets for sale on Halloween night, so I took down my futile decoration attempt, and we went to the game! We’ve been watching the games on TV, but it was about time to go see one in person!
Really, you couldn’t go wrong with the seats because you can see the whole rink. Man, that was such a close game. We lost, but we were in overtime and the Calgary Flames ended up scoring just seconds from when overtime ended! We had a Flames fan sitting next to us and it was fun to hear him banter with a fellow Preds fan that sat in front of us. If you have the opportunity to go to a hockey game, do it. It’s a completely different atmosphere from the other sports and much more exciting to see grown men on an ice rink. There may have been a few fights to take place that the refs had to break up.
Stephen doesn’t have any Predators attire, so we’ll have to get him something to wear at some point. I pulled out the NYX Velvet Matte lipstick that’s dark blue. I’m not sure if I like the feel of the velvet lipstick when it goes on, but I love how overall, the brand’s lipstick stays on the whole time I’m wearing it.
I thought this was a cool shot of the Bridgestone Tower.
Friday Freedom
On Friday, Stephen was able to be off work so we could make the trip to Kingsport. My brother and his wife have recently moved into their new home that was built. They decided to throw Moore-tober Fest on Saturday, and everyone was to wear a flannel.
On Friday, we spent a few hours with Stephen’s parents in Virginia, about an hour past Kingsport. We didn’t get there until around after 4:00 PM, but the traffic wasn’t too terrible on the way there. We went to the Mexican restaurant, El Campestre. I ordered the Chili Colorado because it’s got a huge spicy kick to it, and it’s so yummy. I’m a sucker for Mexican rice too.
Stephen ordered three soft shell tacos that were pretty standard, so I did not capture a picture of his, haha. Mexican food isn’t my favorite, but I will admit that it has grown on me over the years, so I do crave it every now and then!
After dinner, we went to Food City. Stephen and his dad went in to buy some desserts. His mom and I stayed in the car. We saw a strange interaction of two men and a woman doing something with a trailer. Then once the matter was resolved, the single man in the truck that was parked about five spaces from us drove closer and parked in a parking spot that was near the front. I guess he couldn’t manage to walk about 30 feet or more to the grocery store.
When we got back to their home, his dad baked a frozen blackberry cobbler that was delicious, and Stephen got me some Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Toffee Crunch. I never tried that flavor before, but it’s definitely one of my new favorites! We left his parents’ house around 10:30 PM since it would take us about an hour to get back to Kingsport to stay with Haley and Reece.
Saturday’s Schedule
We all slept in on Saturday, which was much needed. Haley, Reece, Stephen, mother, and I went to The Bagel Exchange, a place that mother and I would always go for our “Mommy-Stephie” days as I liked to reference them, haha. It was Stephen’s first time and he ordered the #7, The Captain and some oatmeal.
I ordered the #14, The Newcomer, which is you get to choose any bagel of your choice and get 1/2 of one with some soup or a salad. I always order this with the #1, NY’s Finest. It’s served on an everything bagel, [my favorite] and has smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, and red onions. I love, love the capers. I could eat them all the time! I also got the chicken orzo soup to soothe the cold day.
After we ate, Haley and I had plans to visit our aunt that we haven’t seen in a few months. Stephen and I initially drove separate while Haley drove mother and Reece. Stephen made plans to visit his old friends in Bristol, so he went there once we finished eating and I carpooled with Haley and everyone else. We dropped mom off at her house since she brought my dad and other sister bagels back, and Reece at his house since he was visiting his family.
So, we just chatted with our aunt a few hours until almost 4:00 PM, when Moore-tober Fest started at 5:00 PM at Nick’s, and it would take about 30 minutes to get to his place. She gave me Gilmore Girls on DVD and Charmed — which I haven’t seen, but I’ll need to give it a try.
You can’t tell, but my flannel was blue and green. Mother surprised us with matching ones. We all wore flannels to match our significant others, so that was cute. I’m sad that I didn’t get a picture of all of us, but my family isn’t huge on taking pictures, [why not!?] Oh well, at least my darling sister is always up for some.
Stephen ended up staying a little longer so he could play video games with Nick. So, I went back with Haley and Reece, and we watched Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. I’m not a fan of Jack Black, but I decided that with the lovely surprise to see that Nick Jonas was in it, I could get through it. Overall, I liked the movie, and it was interesting to see how they spun it differently from the original one to make it more modern day.
Sunday See Yas.
I was sad that I didn’t get to spend as much time with Mason as I would have liked. On October 30th, it marked 9 years that I took him in as a stray!! It’s so crazy, but I couldn’t imagine my life without the pup. We went over to my parents’ house to spend a couple of hours with them before we left. They didn’t go to church on Sunday, so we had a little more time with them.
I took this funny picture of Mason because he just has the goofiest expressions sometimes, haha.
He was probably half a sleep and I woke him up since he has that funny expression. But really, you wanna get a dog that can do both, right?
I’m telling you, he’s such a little model.
On the way back home, we stopped at Arby’s for some lunch. Maybe it’s the curly fries or the perfect sliders, but I’ve got a mad love for Arby’s, haha. I mean, who doesn’t love curly fries!? Okay, I’ll calm down, but I would be more than happy to have Arby’s a few times a week, but I refrain from doing so. Although, there is one near my apartment.
So, this brings us to today. I haven’t mentioned it in my posts, but Stephen and I have been watching 24 on Hulu the past few months. We just finished season 5 yesterday, which I agree is the best of them so far. This one had action going on in the very last episodes instead of Jack Bauer exploiting the plan a few episodes prior to the last episode with a lot of talking and other personal drama going on.
Stephen has a bit of cold and the yucky stuff that is going around. Question: Does it seem like guys are more wimpy when it comes to getting sick? Because I sure think so, haha.
I’ll do my best to catch up on what’s been going on with everyone else. I hope the start of the month is treating you well so far!
- Do you have a favorite bagel you like to eat?
- What’s your favorite Halloween candy? Out of the ones we got, I’ll always love the nerds!
AHAHAHA YES! Whenever Ian gets a cold it’s the end of the world, it’s really funny but definitely annoying at times 😂 I actually have a cold at the moment and just moved everything out of our apartment – with 0 complaints (in regards to being sick at least) haha.
And awww happy almost anniversary! Your anniversary is actually Winston’s birthday!! <3
Also, Mason is so freaking adorable. He really is a model!
Haha, that’s so funny! It’s definitely a thing with them being more sensitive when being under the weather. I’ve got a slight cold as well. I hope you feel better soon, and how exciting that you’re in the moving process! I hope it goes seamlessly and can’t wait
to see your Chicago adventures!
And double thank you, happy almost birthday to Winston! Safe travels to you all during this transition! 💙
Yay! So exciting you got to back to Inchin’s for their Indian food this time. The pumpkin lo mein sounds so interesting but, usually, I’m not a fan of anything pumpking spice, either. I LOVE lamb & what Stephen ordered looks oh, so delish! Laughing about the putty. 😂 & so happy you’ve been enjoying AHS. I am a fangirl & can’t fault any of the seasons! Hotel was sooo good to me lol.
Buffalo Wild Wings!!! I always get a craving for their wings, too & I’m def getting those tots next time we go! The lipstick you wore to the hockey game looks gorgeous on you!
I have been craving a lox bagel for so long, yours is making me drool! The Moore-tober fest sounds like a blast, love that you all wore matching flannels. & oh my gosh, I’ve never watched every single epi of Gilmore Girls nor Charmed but, I used to watch them both on TV all the time. Great shows! & I’ve never seen Jumanji but I thought it was kind of funny because I adore Jack Black & can’t stand Nick Jonas lol. Curly fries from Arby’s are the best!!
Hope the rest of your month has been going well, Stephanie 💗 thank you for sharing with us!!
I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of the menu items at Inchin’s! That’s so funny that we have the opposite opinions of AHS. I’ll have to go back and just rewatch them to see if my opinions of them have changed, because I know there are a few things that have over the course of the years!
I hope you enjoy the tots whenever you do go back to BWW. All your wings from a recent post had me wanting to go back again! Thanks about the lipstick! I love that color but it’s quite bold to wear sometimes, haha. I really want to start Charmed sometime soon, but it seems like I’m pushing it down further and further on my list of things! Haha. So you haven’t seen either of the Jumanji movies!? I really liked the original one, but the newest one has some modern cliches for some of the characters.
Thanks for reading and commenting, Hunida! I hope December is treating you well so far! 🙂
I would love to try Inchin’s sometime then! & a lot of people are picky about the seasons of AHS, I hear a lot of people stopped watching when Gaga was cast. She bothers me to no end but, I still enjoyed those seasons lol. I think I have fangirl goggles on, you know what I mean?
Will def let you know if we try the tots at BWW! We had more wings again the other night, just not from there LOL. They can be so addicting, can’t they?
Totally feel you on that lipstick. Bold colors aren’t an everyday thing for me either. 😛 Hope you enjoy Charmed when you get to it! & nope, I haven’t seen any of the Jumanji movies. I have seen Zathura, which is similar, lol, loved that one!
Thank you, sweet Stephanie! Hope your December is treating you well so far, too. <3
There’s a few scattered across the States, but I don’t think there’s one within a close vicinity to you, unfortunately! I’ve heard mixed feelings about the latest season of AHS that’s aired. I’ll just wait until it’s on Netflix next year to see what the fuss was about with it! I can definitely understand what’s you mean on that! Haha.
So much glorious food to try, it’s difficult to decide whah to have with so much of it 😂 Zathura sounds familiar, but I don’t think I’ve seen it! I looked it up and it was written by the same author, so that’s pretty cool!
Yeah, I won’t watch the new AHS until it comes on Netflix, too lol. I can wait, it’s not that urgent for me but, definitely still looking forward to it.
Oh I actually didn’t even know Zathura was written by the same author but totally makes sense now!
I’m sure we’ll have our opinions about a year from now about that one! I’ll definitely have to go back and watch the previous seasons. I just can’t watch a show over and over if I remember what happens, if that makes sense. I have to forget about the in between stuff in order to really get into it again! Well I’m glad that you enjoyed Zathura; I’ll be sure to add that one on my reading list as well!
Yeah they usually upload to Netflix around Halloween time so I can’t wait. 🙂 I don’t like to watch shows or read books over & over again, either. Even if I forget bits & pieces, I always remember the ending before it happens & I hate that. 😛
Oh wait! Zathura is a film I watched. I never read the book!
So you’ve never watched a series twice!? I saw that it was a film, which is why it seemed so familiar to me!
If I’ve watched an entire series from beginning to end, I usually can’t rewatch it but, if I know I missed a few episodes or even entire seasons, then I can start from the beginning again. Does that make sense? 😛
I get what you’re saying! That’s so funny, haha. I’ll miss some shows after a few years and wanna rewatch them to just to see if any of my thoughts and feelings of it have changed!
I try to do that but then get bored because I remember too much! Like actually, I never watched the OC at all but, I know from spoilers/memes that one of the main characters dies so the whole time I tried to watch it, I kept thinking “but she dies later” so I couldn’t watch it anymore lol.
Ahh, well that kind of ruins it for you! Haha. I’m terrible with indulging in spoilers sometimes and I want to see how the series gets to that point! I’d never spoil myself when reading a book, but I have done it with some series if I was in the process of watching one!
Oh my gosh! I could never! Lol I heard some people do that with books, too… like they read the last chapter first!
I tried lending a book to my sister a draw years ago, and she reads the last few pages to see how it ended. If she didn’t puke the say it did, she wouldn’t bother reading it! It drove me crazy!!
Ahh, well that’s a bummer, but I understand! Haha. I always want to know how the series’ end turns out even if I do read spoilers! Such a funny way we want to watch entertainment!
